Funny Pun about Attila the Hun
Funny Pun about Attila the Hun
National Humor Month is coming soon,
Remember? It’s the month of April.
So here is one of my favorite puns,
To thank you for being so faithful.
Over two thousand years ago,
Attila the Hun established a base,
In a very ancient Greek temple –
St. Elias is the name of the place.
Gerard Butler as Attila
Before Attila came on the scene,
A pagan Greek temple stood there,
Devoted to Eros, the God of Love,
Where people would kneel in prayer.
Attila collected Greek legal writs,
To study Greek law and rights of seizure.
There within the temple he stored them all,
He would read them one day at his leisure.
One day the legal writs were destroyed,
Historians don’t know the reason.
Maybe because he could hardly read,
Or believed that these laws were treason.
In the 15th century the Greek church
Established a convent on this site.
Pagan statues of Eros were destroyed,
Only Sisters remained day and night.
Where Attila once had his base,
Where the legal writs were destroyed,
And the Eros statues defaced,
Now one lone Sister is employed.
When Sister Maria Cyrilla dies,
Not one sister will be left in her place.
And that is how this funny pun will end,
No Huns, no writs, no Eros . . . and Nun left on base!
